Indian Constitution is the world’s largest written constitution. To frame a constitution for India a constituent assembly was established on 9th December 1946. This Assembly appointed a Drafting Committee on 29th August 1947. It took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days for the constituent Assembly to finalise the constitution of India.

Before the independence of India many administrative and legislative reforms have been done by the British Empire in the reign of British India. All these reforms are listed and discussed below.
